Paldor Peak stands at height of 5903 metres, lies at the south-east end of less traffic majestic climbing peak of Ruby Valley-Ganesh Himal range at the junction of the Tiru and Karpu Dandas (ridges). While it is under 6,000m, it provides a satisfying and non-to-difficult climb. The main route across the glacier is crevassed and takes some finding. On reaching the col there are two options. Either climb the straightforward ridge using ropes, or continue around to the crevassed back for a simpler, 45 degree, ridge. In good conditions making a traverse of the mountain is possible.
The Paldor Peak summit is easy to reach, if weather conditions are good. Once up in the peak, the views are exceptional. You will be able to enjoy the rich landscape, featuring the Ganesh Himal peaks, Mount Langtang Lirung (7,234m.) and Manaslu (8,163m.), as well as some mountains of Tibet, like Shishapangma (8,013m.). It was first ascent of Paldor took place in 1949 by Bill Tilman, Peter Lloyd, Tenzing Sherpa and Da Namgyal over the northeast ridge and as per Nepal government record same climbers ascent on January 05, 2022. To begin this program, we will need to drive from Kathmandu to Sabru Bensi, in the Trisuli valley. This takes between 6 and 8 hours. Once there, we begin the trekking itinerary to Sabrubesi across the Langtang Khola. On our way, we will trek across ancient traditional villages like After Tangjet and Gatlang, with a rich Tamang culture.
