Trip Overview

Chulu West Peak Expedition is suitable for experienced trekkers and amateur climbers who wish to climb a demanding trekking peak in the Annapurna region of Nepal. Basically, there are two Chulu Peaks - Chulu East and Chulu West Peak. This package is for the Chulu West Peak climbing which standing at a height of (6,419m). The Chulu West Peak offers an interesting peak climbing opportunity for those looking for an adventure in the Annapurna Region. Some consider the Chulu West Peak to be one of the best peaks in the Annapurna region. While climbing the peak, we will also be able to enjoy magnificent views of Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Annapurna, and other Himalaya peaks. However, climbing the Chulu West Peak requires a good physical condition and a high degree of stamina required.

There is no doubt that Chulu west is one of the physically demanding trekking peak climbs in Nepal so to join this expedition, you require greater personal commitment and previous trekking or climbing experience is preferable. We organize a special climbing training course on which, with our very experienced climbing guides, you will learn and practice all the climbing techniques you will need including - the practical use of crampons, ice axes, ropes, etc. to make sure that you master all the required skills and to boost your confidence which will ensure that you have a challenging but safe and successful climbing experience to climb the summit - an awesome experience. We organize the Chulu west peak climbing trip in combination with around Annapurna trekking, a classic trekking route in Nepal.

Outline Peak Climbing Itinerary: A

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu airport (1,350m), meet our staff then transfer to Hotel.
Day 02: Free day in Kathmandu, preparation and briefing about trip at evening.
Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Besi Shahar (823m) then Overnight at Guest House/Teahouse Lodge.
Day 04: Drive from Besi Shahar to Chame Village (2,713m) then Overnight at Teahouse Lodge.
Day 05: Trek start from Chame Village to Upper Pisang Village (3,300m). O/N at Teahouse Lodge.
Day 06: Upper Pisang Village – Green Lake – Manang Village (3,351m). O/N at Teahouse Lodge
Day 07: Rest day for acclimatization or explore around. O/N at Teahouse Lodge
Day 08: Manang Village – Chulu West Base Camp (4,000m) – Set up Camp. O/N at Tented Camp.
Day 09: Chulu West Base Camp to Chulu West High Camp (5,300m). O/N at Tented Camp.
Day 10-13: Ascent Chulu West Peak Summit (6,419m), return to Base Camp. Full Camping.
Day 14: Clean Base Camp, back-packing and ready for the return. O/N at Tented Camp.
Day 15: Trek back to Manang Village and Over night at Teahouse Lodge.
Day 16: Local Jeep or, Bus drive to Besi Shahar and transfer to Guest House/Teahouse Lodge.
Day 17: Besi Shahar – Kathmandu by Toyota Hiace/Bus then transfer at Hotel.
Day 18: Free day in Kathmandu for rest and farewell dinner in the evening.
Day 19: Last minute, transfers to TIA airport for your onward journey. Final Departure.

Day 16: Thorong La Phedi – Thorong La Pass (5,416m) – Muktinath. (3,802m). O/N at Teahouse Lodge.
Day 17: Jeep or, Bus drive to Pokhara (915m) and transfer to Hotel for overnight.
Day 18: Pokhara leisure for rest or explore around. O/N Hotel.
Day 19: Drive for flight from Pokhara – Kathmandu then transfer to Hotel.
Day 20: Free day in Kathmandu for rest and farewell dinner in the evening.
Day 21: Last minute, transfers to TIA airport for your onward journey. Final Departure.

  • Technical Climbing Gears: High Tent, Snow bars, Rock Pitons, Shovel, EPI Gas, Gas Burner, enough Korean Rope and high food.
  • First Aid Medical Kit Box in trekking and at Base Camp.
  • Walkie-talkies will be provided for communication between Base Camp and the summit, depending on the size of the group.
  • Farewell dinner in a typical Nepali restaurant in Kathmandu.
    Mt. Chulu West Peak summit certificate after the successful summit of the peak.
  • Nepal government official taxes and company service charge.

Cost Excludes

  • International airfare: To and from your country.
  • Nepal entry visa fee (To be applied for 30 days - Visa can be obtained upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport-Kathmandu).
  • Personal transportation except above programs.
  • Major meals lunch and dinner during your stay in Kathmandu and Pokhara.
  • Hotel after 5 nights stay in Kathmandu. Itinerary A

  • Personal trekking and climbing gears (trekking and climbing Boots).
  • Personal Sleeping bag (should cover -20º Celsius) and mattress for the high camp.

  • Extra meals while on trek (besides breakfast, lunch, dinner and 3 times Tea or, coffee)
  • Personal insurance such as travel, accident, hospital medical expenses, emergency evacuation and lost your luggage.
  • Personal Expenses: Phone calls, wifi while on the trek, battery charging, laundry service, postage, alcoholic beverages, bottles and canned beverages, specialty coffee or espresso drinks etc during in teahouse lodges on the way to base camp and return.
  • Airport customs charges for communication equipment, Drone Camera, commercial filming permits during the trek and peak climbing. (If required)
  • Airport customs charges for peak climbing gear and materials. (If climber sent by cargo to Kathmandu)
  • Bank/wire transfer fees (if applicable).
  • Risk of flight delays to and from Lukla or any other reason. (incase of bad weather)
  • Any other service cost which is not included in the cost includes.
  • Tips and Gratuities for climbing guide, cook, Kitchen boys and porters.

Tipping System:
Tipping is done on a group-sharing basis by peak climbing participants. The minimum recommended amounts are as bellow:
1. Trek+Climbing Guide, a Cook: Min. USD 150 each.
2. BC Kitchen Boys/Helpers: Min. USD 100 each.
3. Porters: Min. USD 50 each.
