Trip Overview

Chulu Far East Peak Climbing is an popular peak that rises north of Marsyangdi Khola in the Annapurna region (Manang area) of Nepal. Chulu Far East Peak forms a part of the Manang Himalayan range which offers adventurous peak climbing and mountaineering with magnificent views of Annapurna I, Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Annapurna IV. So as, Dhaulagiri, Gangapurna, Manaslu, Glacier Dome, Chulu West, Pisang Peak and other snow-capped peaks bordering to Tibet. Among the three Chulus, Chulu Far East Peak is also considered as the easiest but straightforward climbing peak in Nepal.

Chulu Far East Peak was first ascended by a German Expedition team in 1955. Chulu Far East Peak Climbing summit is a perfect opportunity for climbers. It lets you an opportunity to achieve a moderate adventurous peak climbing. We have designed two different itineraries for those who already been Annapurna circuit trek. Finally our trek crosses the Thorong-La pass at 5,416 meters to descend to the pilgrimage town of Muktinath. Beside this trip can also includes an excursion to Tilicho Lake, the highest lake in the world situated at an altitude of 4,920 meters and the crossing of the challenging Mesokanto Pass at 5,120 meters or, Thorung-la Pass 5,416 metres. From where we will have an amazing view of Mustang and the Tibetan Plateau. Chulu Far East requires technical climbing skill so you need to have previous climbing experience.

Outline Peak Climbing Itinerary: A

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu airport (1,350m), meet our staff then transfer to Hotel.
Day 02: Free day in Kathmandu, preparation and briefing about trip at evening.
Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Besi Shahar (823m). O/N at Guest House/Teahouse Lodge.
Day 04: Drive from Besi Shahar to Chame Village (2,713m) then Overnight at Teahouse Lodge.
Day 05: Trek start from Chame Village to Upper Pisang Village (3,300m). O/N at Teahouse Lodge.
Day 06: Rest day for acclimatization, exploration. O/N at Teahouse Lodge.
Day 07: Upper Pisang Village – Chulu Kharka (Yak Kharka, Ngawal - 4,210m). O/N at Tented Camp.
Day 08: Chulu Kharka – Chulu Far East Base Camp (5,140m) –Set up Camp–Preparation. O/N at Tented Camp.
Day 09: Chulu Far East Base Camp – Chulu Far East Hight Camp (5,400m.). O/N at Tented Camp.
Day 10: Ascent Chulu Far East Peak (6,059m) summit and back to Chulu East Base Camp. O/N at Camp.
Day 11: Reserve day – if incase bad weather or back-packing and ready for the return. O/N at Tented Camp.
Day 12: Chulu Far East BC – Humde Village (3,330m) or, Manang Village (3,351m). O/N at Teahouse Lodge.
Day 13: Local Jeep or, Bus drive to Besi Shahar and transfer to Guest House/Teahouse Lodge.
Day 14: Besi Shahar – Kathmandu by Toyota Hiace/Bus then transfer at Hotel.
Day 15: Free day in Kathmandu for rest and farewell dinner in the evening.
Day 16: Last minute, transfers to TIA airport for your onward journey. Final Departure.

Day 15: Jeep or, Bus drive to Pokhara (915m) and transfer to Hotel for overnight.
Day 16: Drive or, flight from Pokhara – Kathmandu then transfer at Hotel.
Day 17: Free day in Kathmandu for rest and farewell dinner in the evening.
Day 18: Last minute, transfers to TIA airport for your onward journey. Final Departure.

  • Technical Climbing Gears: High Tent, Snow bars, Rock Pitons, Shovel, EPI Gas, Gas Burner, enough Korean Rope and high food.
  • First Aid Medical Kit Box in trekking and at Base Camp.
  • Walkie-talkies will be provided for communication between Base Camp and the summit, depending on the size of the group.
  • Farewell dinner in a typical Nepali restaurant in Kathmandu.
  • Mt. Chulu Far East summit certificate after the successful summit of the peak.
  • Nepal government official taxes and company service charge.

Cost Excludes

  • International airfare: To and from your country.
  • Nepal entry visa fee (To be applied for 30 days - Visa can be obtained upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport-Kathmandu).
  • Personal transportation except above programs.
  • Major meals lunch and dinner during your stay in Kathmandu and Pokhara.
  • Hotel after 5 nights stay in Kathmandu. Itinerary A

  • Personal trekking and climbing gears (trekking and climbing Boots).
  • Personal Sleeping bag (should cover -20º Celsius) and mattress for the high camp.

  • Extra meals while on trek (besides breakfast, lunch, dinner and 3 times Tea or, coffee)
  • Personal insurance such as travel, accident, hospital medical expenses, emergency evacuation and lost your luggage.
  • Personal Expenses: Phone calls, wifi while on the trek, battery charging, laundry service, postage, alcoholic beverages, bottles and canned beverages, specialty coffee or espresso drinks etc during in teahouse lodges on the way to base camp and return.
  • Airport customs charges for communication equipment, Drone Camera, commercial filming permits during the trek and peak climbing. (If required)
  • Airport customs charges for peak climbing gear and materials. (If climber sent by cargo to Kathmandu)
  • Bank/wire transfer fees (if applicable).
  • Risk of flight delays to and from Lukla or any other reason. (incase of bad weather)

  • Tips and Gratuities for climbing guide, cook, Kitchen boys and porters.

Tipping System:
Tipping is done on a group-sharing basis by peak climbing participants. The minimum recommended amounts are as bellow:
1. Trek+Climbing Guide, a Cook: Min. USD 150 each.
2. BC Kitchen Boys/Helpers: Min. USD 100 each.
3. Porters: Min. USD 50 each.
