Trip Overview

Chulu East Peak Climbing trip is one of the most demanding and highly rated expeditions, however, it is difficult to match for its spectacular mountain scenery, trekking, and mountaineering challenges, and the exposure it provides to the variety of ethnic Nepalese cultures. The Chulu East Peak summit lies at an altitude of 6,584 metres above the Manang valley offering breathtaking views of the mastiff Himalayas of Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Mt. Manaslu (8,163m), Mt. Annapurna (8,091m) and other mountains.

The Chulu peak western summit (probably the central summit) was first climbed in 1952 by a Japanese expedition under Masataka Takagi. In 1955 a German mountaineering group climbed the summit in the Chulu massif. It is believed that they climbed the Chulu Far East summit. The first ascent of the east summit took place in 1979 by Dick Isherwood and John Noble. Chulu East Peak Climbing is one of the most popular trekking peaks in Annapurna Region offering beautiful views of Himalayas of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Manaslu, Mt. Annapurna and snow capped mountains of Annapurna trekking trails. Close up views of the Annapurna range (40 miles between the two river valleys contain at twelve 7,000 metere peaks and many more above the 6,000m) and varied ecosystems, diverse cultures, and an ever-changing landscape - lush, green paddy fields and oak forests, arid deserts, the deepest gorge and some of the most fascinating mountains make this one of the most popular areas in the world for trekkers and mountaineers. The best attraction of this trail is such as visit Manang Valley, Thorung-La Pass and decent to Jomsom via Holy Muktinath.
