Trip Overview

An amazing magnificent panoramic view circuit of the Everest region with challenging ascents of Island Peak

Island Peak Climbing, lesser known as the Imja Tse climb with Everest Base Camp Trek is a fantastic experience in the Himalayas of Nepal. Island Peak stand at height of 6,165 metres which is one of the main climbing peaks in the Everest Region of Nepal with an impressive and highly glaciated West Face that rises from the Mount Lhotse glacier. Being one of the ‘trekking peaks’ with very little technical aspects, Island Peak climb’s difficulty level is mediocre for a beginner climber wishing to enter the incredible world of mountain climbing. Our adventure journeys takes us into the heartland of the Khumbu Valley and Sherpa culture. Before ascending the peak, we also visit, possibly the most popular trekking destination in the world that called Everest Base Camp Trek (5,357m.) and Kala Patthar for the up-close views of Mount Everest and other high mountains. It is designed for energetic and physically fit trekkers with little or no experience in mountain expedition.

Island Peak first ascent by Hans-Rudolf Von Gunten and 2 unknown Sherpas, and the southwest summit of Imja Tse was first climbed in 1953 as part of a training exercise by a British expedition those who went on to summit of Mount Everest. The Island peak climbing itinerary has proper and gradual acclimatization at suitable intervals. The 18 day journeys begins from and comes to a conclusion at one of the most famous airstrips in the world, the Lukla Airport in the Everest Region. Island Peak height (6,165m.) officially fixed by the Nepal Mountaineering Association.
