An amazing magnificent panoramic view circuit of the Everest region with challenging ascents of Island Peak
Island Peak Climbing, lesser known as the Imja Tse climb with Everest Base Camp Trek is a fantastic experience in the Himalayas of Nepal. Island Peak stand at height of 6,165 metres which is one of the main climbing peaks in the Everest Region of Nepal with an impressive and highly glaciated West Face that rises from the Mount Lhotse glacier. Being one of the ‘trekking peaks’ with very little technical aspects, Island Peak climb’s difficulty level is mediocre for a beginner climber wishing to enter the incredible world of mountain climbing. Our adventure journeys takes us into the heartland of the Khumbu Valley and Sherpa culture. Before ascending the peak, we also visit, possibly the most popular trekking destination in the world that called Everest Base Camp Trek (5,357m.) and Kala Patthar for the up-close views of Mount Everest and other high mountains. It is designed for energetic and physically fit trekkers with little or no experience in mountain expedition.
Island Peak first ascent by Hans-Rudolf Von Gunten and 2 unknown Sherpas, and the southwest summit of Imja Tse was first climbed in 1953 as part of a training exercise by a British expedition those who went on to summit of Mount Everest. The Island peak climbing itinerary has proper and gradual acclimatization at suitable intervals. The 18 day journeys begins from and comes to a conclusion at one of the most famous airstrips in the world, the Lukla Airport in the Everest Region. Island Peak height (6,165m.) officially fixed by the Nepal Mountaineering Association.
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu airport (1,350m.), meet our staff and transfers to Hotel.
Day 02: Fly to Lukla (2,800m.) trek to Phakding (2,610m.) O/N at Teahouse Lodge.
Day 03: Phakding – Namche Bazar (3,440m.)
Day 04: Namche rest for acclimatization and explore.
Day 05: Namche – Tengboche (3,860m.)
Day 06: Tengboche – Pheriche (4,243m.)
Day 07: Pheriche – Lobuche (4,940m.)
Day 08: Trek to Gorakshep (5,288m.) Explore Everest Base Camp (5,357m.).
Day 09: Hike Kala Pattar (5,554m.) – Chhukung (4,750m.) via Kongma-La Pass (5,540m.)
Day 10: Chhukung – Island Peak Base Camp (5,600m.)
Day 11: Island Peak Base Camp – High Camp and preparation day.
Day 12: High Camp – Island Peak (6,165m.) summit and back to Chhukung.
Day 13: Chhukung – Tengboche (3,860m.)
Day 14: Tengboche – Monjo (2,840m.).
Day 15: Monjo – Lukla (2,866m.) and transfer to teahouse Lodge.
Day 16: Lukla – Kathmandu by early flight and transfers to Hotel.
Day 17: Kathmandu free for D-briefing and rest, farewell dinner at evening.
Day 18: Last minute, transfer to airport for your onward journey.
