Upper Mustang with Muktinath Trekking: Explore the Last Forbidden Kingdom
The Upper Mustang with Muktinath Trek is one of Nepal’s most adventurous and culturally rich journeys. This 14 to 18 day trek begins in Kathmandu, continues to the scenic lakeside city of Pokhara, and takes you through ancient villages like Kagbeni, Lo Manthang, Chhusang, and Chele—each offering dramatic landscapes and a deep connection to Tibetan culture.
Traverse desert-like valleys, deep canyons, and eroded cliffs, all set against the breathtaking backdrop of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, and Annapurna. Walking alongside the Kali Gandaki River, you’ll also experience one of the world’s deepest gorges. Known as the Last Forbidden Kingdom, Upper Mustang lies in the rain shadow of the Himalayas, creating its distinct “mountain desert” terrain. Along the trail, meet Tamang, Gurung, Mustangi, and Tibetan communities, and experience their unique way of life.
The trek culminates with a visit to the sacred Muktinath Temple, a revered site for both Hindus and Buddhists. Your journey ends with a scenic flight from Jomsom back to Pokhara, and a return drive to Kathmandu. Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu airport (1,350m), meet our staff then transfers to Hotel.
Day 02: Drive or Flight from Kathmandu – Pokhara (915m) then transfers to Hotel.
Day 03: 4WD Jeep drive to Kagbeni Village (2,810m) then transfer to Teahouse Lodge for Overnight.

Day 05: Chele – Syangboche (Syangbochen - 3,820m). O/N at Teahouse Lodge.
Day 06: Syangboche – Ghami Village (Ghemi - 3,520m). O/N at Teahouse Lodge.
Day 07: Ghami – Ghami La (3,765m) - Tsarang Village (3,560m). O/N at Teahouse Lodge.
Day 08: Tsarang – Lo-Manthang (Upper Mustang - 3,810m), exploration surrounding. O/N at T. Lodge.
Day 09: Day explore by Jeep drive to Thinkar, Kimaling, Chunjung, Namdruk and Chhoser Village.
Day 10: Lo-Manthang – Lo-Gekar (3,520m) – Dhakmar (3,820m) – Ghami (3,520m). O/N at Teahouse Lodge.
Day 11: Ghami – Samar Village (3,660m). O/N at Teahouse Lodge.
Day 12: Samar Village – 4WD local Jeep drive to Pokhara then transfer to Hotel.
Exit Restricted Area:
Day 13: Flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu then transfers to Hotel, farewell dinner at evening.
Day 14: Last minute, transfers to airport for your onward journey. Final Departure.

Day 10: Day tour by Jeep drive to Thinkar, Kimaling, Chunjung, Namdruk and Chhoser Village.
Day 11: Lo-Manthang – Lo-Gekar (3,520m) – Dhakmar (3,820m) – Ghami (3,520m). O/N at Teahouse Lodge.
Day 12: Ghami – Samar Village (3,660m) or, Chele. O/N at Teahouse Lodge.
Day 13: Samar or, Chele – Chhusang (Tshusang - 2,980m) or, Tetang (3,040m). O/N at Teahouse Lodge.
Day 14: Chhusang or, Tetang – Gyu La Pass (4,077m) – Muktinath (3,760m). O/N at Teahouse Lodge/Hotel.
Exit Restricted Area:
Day 15: 4WD Jeep/Bus drive from Muktinath to Pokhara and transfer to Hotel.
Day 16: Drive or Flight from Pokhara – Kathmandu then transfer to Hotel.
Day 17: Free day in Kathmandu for rest or shopping, with a farewell dinner in the evening.
Day 18: Last minute, transfer to Airport for onward journey. Final Departure.
