Pathibhara Devi Temple, also known as Mukkumlung by the local Limbu community, is a revered religious site situated at an altitude of 3,794 meters above sea level in the Taplejung district of eastern Nepal. In despair, they experienced a divine vision in which Goddess Pathibhara instructed them to offer a ritual sheep sacrifice and build a temple in her honor. Following the ritual, the lost herd miraculously returned. Since then, devotees have practiced ritual offerings as a symbol of devotion and gratitude. Pathibhara Devi is seen as a powerful and fearsome goddess easily pleased by selfless love and devotion, yet merciless toward those with impure intentions.
