Trip Overview

Mt. Kanchenjunga, at (8,598m.) is the world's third highest mountain and lies on the border between Nepal and the Indian state of Sikkim; this classic Nepal trek visits both the North and South Base Camps of this incredible mountain. The trek starts in the tropical lowlands after scenic flight to Suketar, from where we head north through lush forests and neatly terraced hillsides towards the mighty Himalaya.

The views become more spectacular the higher we go and as we trek onto the glacial moraines the huge bulk of Kanchenjunga towers high above. Only opened to trekking groups in 1988, the Kanchenjunga region offers the keen walker a unique opportunity to visit a pristine mountain wilderness, passing through seldom visited villages en route and ending with some of the most impressive high mountain scenery on earth. Trails back with spectacular mountain scenery as we gradually descend to Taplejung and drive back to Biratnagar then fly back to Kathmandu.

Outline Trekking Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu Airport (1,350m.), meet our staff and transfer to Hotel.
Day 02: Kathmandu free, official work and briefing at evening.
Day 03: Fly to Biratnagar (80m.) then drive to Ilam Bazar. (370m.) O/N at Teahouse Lodge
Day 04: Drive from Ilam Bazar to Taplejung. (1,824m.)
Day 05: Trek from Taplejung - Mitlung. (9,21m.)
Day 06: Mitlung - Chiruwa. (1,270m.) 5-6hrs.
Day 07: Chiruwa - Sukethum. (1,585m.) 5hrs.
Day 08: Sukethum - Amjilosa. (2,395m. - Amjilessa)
Day 09: Amjilosa - Gyabla. (2,780m.-Kyapra)
Day 10: Gyabla - Ghunsa (3,427m.)
Day 11: Acclimatization day and explore.
Day 12: Ghunsa - Kambachen. (4,050m. - Khangpachen)
Day 13: Khangpachen - Lhonak, (4,780m.)
Day 14: Lhonak - Pangpema - Kanchenjunga Base Camp. (5,143m. - KBC North)
Day 15: Exploration at morning and trek back to - Kambachen.
Day 16: Kambachen - Ghunsa. (3,427m.)
Day 17: Ghunsa - Selele Pass (4,480m.) - Tseram. (3,770m.)
Day 18: Tseram - Ramche. (4,580m.- Ramze).
Day 19: Ascent to Yalung Base Camp/Kanchenjunga Base Camp. (4,500m. KBC South)
Day 20: Ramche - Anda Phedi. (3,370m.)
Day 21: Anda Phedi - Toroton. (2,995m.)
Day 22: Toroton - Yamphudin. (2,080m.)
Day 23: Yamphudin - Mamankhe. (1,785m.)
Day 24: Mamankhe - Khesewa (2,120m.)
Day 25: Khesewa - Taplejung and overnight at teahouse Lodge.
Day 26: Drive to Biratnagar and transfer to Hotel.
Day 27: Fly back to Kathmandu then transfer to Hotel.
Day 28: Kathmandu free and farewell dinner.
Day 29: Last minute, transfer to airport for onward journey.

Cost Includes

All land transportation by Car, Jeep, Toyota Hiace or, tourist Bus. (Airport/Hotel/Airport, trekking pick up and drop).
4 Night’s hotel accommodation in Kathmandu at Bed & Breakfast basis.
1 Night accommodation in Biratnagar at bed and breakfast basis.
Local transportation: Biratnagar/Ilam or Phiding/Taplejung (Phungling Bazar) by Jeep or, Bus and return.
All three major meals B/L/D (provide continental food) and accommodation in best available teahouse lodge during the trek en-route.
One professional English speaking trekking guide and necessary Porter. (1 Porter between two member)
