Trip Overview

Mt. Kanchenjunga, at 8,598 meters, is the world’s third-highest mountain and lies on the border between Nepal and the Indian state of Sikkim. This classic Nepal trek explores both the North and South Base Camps of this incredible peak. The trek begins in the tropical lowlands following a scenic flight to Bhadrapur. From there, we head north through lush forests and neatly terraced hillsides, steadily ascending toward the mighty Himalayas.

As we climb higher, the views become increasingly spectacular. Trekking across glacial moraines, we are met with the awe-inspiring sight of Kanchenjunga’s immense bulk towering above us. Opened to trekking groups only in 1988, the Kanchenjunga region offers adventurous trekkers a rare opportunity to explore a pristine mountain wilderness. The trail passes through remote, seldom-visited villages and culminates in some of the most breathtaking high-altitude scenery on earth. The return journey is equally stunning, with panoramic mountain views as we gradually descend to Bhadrapur city. From there, we drive back to Bhadrapur and take a return flight back to Kathmandu.
