Trip Overview

Milke Danda trek or Kanchenjunga panorama view trek is located in the far east part of Nepal. This is long and high forest ridge that divides the Arun and Tamor valley in the eastern Nepal. We start trek from Tumlingtar and make a trek of several days up this ridge that offers views of Makalu to the west and Kanchenjunga to the east.

Westerners less frequent Milke Danda area, the region are densely vegetated with rare alpine flora and the beautiful rhododendron forest. It is renowned for having the highest diversity of Nepalese Rhododendron species (29 out of 32 species reported from Nepal), with trek follows through small isolated farm villages after the major village town of Tumlingtar and Khandbari, the trail gradually continues towards higher hills, offering impressive view of the mountains all the way to Milke Danda area. Especially Milke Danda is more popular area for different kind of flowers including the Nepal’s national flower Rhododendron.

Outline Trekking Itinerary: A Spring & Autumn

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu airport meet our staff then transfer to Hotel.
Day 02: Full day sightseeing Swayambhunath, Bouddhanath, Pashupatinath, Patan Durbar square & Hanuman Dhoka (Old Durbar square). O/N Hotel.
Day 03: Fly to Tumlingtar and trek to Khadbari (510m.)  
Day 04: Trek to Chainpur (1335m.) O/N  Camp (4-5 hours) 12km   
Day 05: Trek to Chitlang (1570m.) O/N Camp (3-4 hours) 13km
Day 06: Trek to Milke Danda (1740m.) O/N  Camp (5-6 hours) 9km
Day 07: Trek to  Gupha Pokhari (2870m.) O/N Camp (4-5 hours)10km
Day 08: Trek to Chauki (2660m.) O/N Camp (5-6 hours)14km
Day 09: Trek to Basantapur (2310m.) on  Camp (5-6 hours) 12km
Day 10: Drive to Biratnagar and fly to Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel.
Day 11: Kathmandu free. O/N Hotel.
Day 12: Last minute, transfer to airport for your onward journey.

Day 08: Milke Danda day hike (3,662m.).
Day 09: Milke Danda - Mayam.
Day 10: Mayam - Chainpur (1,600m.).
Day 11: Chainpur - Tumlingtar.
Day 12: Fly back to Kathmandu then transfer to Hotel.
Day 13: Kathmandu free.
Day 14: Last minute, transfer to airport for your onward journey.
