Trip Overview

This superb trek takes us away from the more frequented trails, which lead to Everest Base Camp and over a little used pass to the east, through which we enter the sparsely inhabited Linkhu Valley. From here we walk northwards through a beautiful high alpine environment, where Mera Peak, at (6,654m.) the highest trekking peak in Nepal, towers over the valley. Traversing around to the north, however, we find a softer side to the mountain, and from here it is a non-technical climb which anyone with ice-axe and crampon experience can attempt.

If you’ve acclimatized well, and have strong lungs and plenty of willpower, you can reach the summit of this beautiful Himalayan peak and obtain views that encompass four of the five highest mountains on earth standing proud over hundreds of lesser ones, many still unnamed and unclimbed. The main interesting and adventure treks take us through the Amphu Lapcha high passes to Chhukung from where our trek back to Lukla.

Outline Trek Itinerary: Spring & Autumn

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu airport (1,350m.), meet our staff & transfers to Hotel.
Day 02: Kathmandu free and prepared for climbing.
Day 03: Fly to Lukla (2,800m.) then trek to Chutanga (2,835m.) 3-4 hrs.
Day 04: Chutanga to Zatrwa - La (4,610m.) and trek to Thuli Kharka (4,400m.).
Day 05: Thuli Kharka to Kothe (3,555m.).
Day 06: Kothe – Tangnag (Thangnak - 4,350m.)
Day 07: Tangnag – Khare (5,100m.)
Day 08: Khare rest for acclimatization and preparation.
Day 09: Khare – Mera-La (5,415m.) and fixed High Camp.
Day 10: Climbing Period for Mera Peak.
Day 11: Mera Peak summit (6,470m.) decent Mera-La and trek to Kangme Dingma (4,850m).
Day 12: Kangme Dingma – Seto Pokhari (5,035m.)
Day 13: Seto Pokhari – Amphu Lapcha Pass (5,845m.) – Chhukung (4,730m.)
Day 14: Chhukung – Tengboche (3,867m.)
Day 15: Tengboche – Namche Bazar (3,440m.)
Day 16: Namche Bazar rest.
Day 17: Namche Bazar – Phakding (2,652m.)
Day 18: Phakding – Lukla and transfer to Hotel.
Day 19: Fly back to Kathmandu then transfers to Hotel.
Day 20: Kathmandu free.
Day 21: Last minute, transfer to airport for your onward journey.
