Trip Overview

Annapurna with a difference, Manang to Tilicho Lake with 4WD Jeep drive

The Annapurna region undoubtedly offers some of the world’s best trekking routes, providing a greater variety of scenery and culture than can be found in any other comparable area. While the classic Annapurna Circuit is a magnificent route, this new trek presents a wild and remote alternative to the Thorong-La. The path via Tilicho Lake and the two passes that guard it from the Kaligandaki Valley is still relatively little-used, offering adventurous and fit trekkers some of the best high-mountain scenery.

The Tilicho Lake Trek, once a sanctuary for dedicated trekkers, now offers an alternative: a combined Tilicho Lake Trek and 4x4 Jeep trip that takes travelers to this high-altitude gem. This new option blends the thrill of off-road adventure with the serenity of the Annapurna countryside, making it accessible to time- and physically-constrained travelers. The chance to sit beside the freezing waters of the lake, surrounded by rock and ice, with Tilicho Peak towering above, offers an exciting alternative to the more crowded trails. While this route was previously available as part of a longer itinerary.
