Lhasa to Kathmandu Overland Tour is a best and most adventurous trip to Tibet where you can explore route of Tibet flying from Kathmandu to Lhasa and drive back to Kathmandu. Probably this trip is much more memorable experiences in your life. Tibet, on the lofty Tibetan Plateau on the northern side of the Himalayas, is an autonomous region of China. It's nicknamed the “Roof of the World” for its towering peaks. It shares Mt. Everest with Nepal. Its capital, Lhasa, is site of hill top Potala Palace, once the Dalai Lama’s winter home, and Jokhang Temple, Tibet’s spiritual heart, revered for its golden statue of the young Buddha.

This overland tour connects two old capital cities, Lhasa in Tibet and Kathmandu in Nepal. The tour begins in Lhasa and ends in Kathmandu.

Outline Tour Itinerary: (Fly in/Drive out)

Day 01: Arrival in Lhasa (3,660m.); Either from Kathmandu or Beijing/Chengdu.
Pick you up from Lhasa airport or Train station – You will arrive in Lhasa either from Kathmandu or mainland China (Beijing/Chengdu). Full rest for acclimatization – O/N at Hotel.

Day 02-03: Two Full Days Sightseeing Tour in Lhasa holy City:
Visit Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Bazar, Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery – O/N at Hotel.

Day 04: Drive from Lhasa to Gyantse (3,950m.) 251 Km to Shigatse (3,900m.): 90km
Drive to Gyantse via Yamadroke Lake and high passes: Kora La (5,010m) and Kamba La (4,794m.). Sight-seeing in Gyantse including Pholkor and Kumbum Monastery and scenic drive to Shigatse (1.5hrs) through the typical Tibetan Countryside- Hotel.

Day 05: Drive from Shigatse to Shegar (4,100m.): 270km
AM: Visit Panchen Lama’s Tashilhumpu Monastery. Then Drive to Shegar crossing over Gyatchula (a pass of 5,200m.) – O/N at Guest House

Day 06: Drive from Shegar to Ronbuk: 90KM
Rongbuk 90 KM Then Drive to Shegar crossing over Gyatchula (a pass of 5,200m.) and drive to Rongbuk. O/N at Guest House.

Day 07: Explore North Everest Base Camp and drive to Kyirong (2800m.): 250KM
Rent a horse cart or walk to the Everest Base Camp (EBC) and explore around – back to Rongbuk – Drive back to Tingri and further to Kyirong. One can enjoy the magnificent view of the Mt. Shisapangma (8,212m) and Mt. Cho Oyu (8,201m.). Overnight at Guest house at Kyirong Border (2800m.).

Day 08: Kyirong – Kathmandu: 168km
After necessary border formalities at Kyirong border crossing; continue scenic drive to Kathmandu through the green lush countryside- transfer to your Hotel. Our representative will be waiting for you at the border Nepal side. Continue to drive to Kathmandu.
