Mt. Chomo Lonzo main lies in the Kangshung valley and separated from Mt. Makalu by Sakietang-La and Chomo Lonzo has three different summits. It was first ascent by French climber Lionel Terrary and Jean Couzy via South summit (7,804m.) from Mt. Makalu, Nepal side at 1954 and in 1993 a Japanese party made a second ascent from Tibet side following a dangerous line under seracs. Neither the Central Summit (7,540m. or 7,565m.) nor the North Summit (7,199m.) The northeast face seemed challenging but risky, with much snow and threatening seracs.

Mt. Chomo Lonzo Central and North peaks remained unclimbed until 2005. In 1999, an attempt to climb the central peak via its daunting NE pillar was thwarted. In April 2005, a French expedition first explored the NE face but, finding it too challenging, approached the mountain from the West and Northwest instead. One team (Yannick Graziani, Christian Trommsdorff and Patrick Wagnon) climbed the North summit over the NW ridge on May 7, while another (Stéphane Benoist and Patrice Glairon-Rappaz) reached it over the West face on May 16. The first team re-ascended the North peak and continued to reach the central peak on May 21. The initial plan to traverse all three peaks and descend via the Sakietang-La proved impossible.

Mt. Chomo Lonzo three different major Peaks:
Main Summit = 7,804m./25,604ft (South/West Face)
Second Summit = 7,540m. or 7,565m./24,738ft (Central peak)
Third Summit = 7,199m./23,619ft (North or North West)

We CTE will start this trip from the Lhasa by flight from Kathmandu and it takes almost 4 days arrive to Chomo Lonzo manin base camp after having some day’s sight seeing around Lhasa.

Climbing Sherpa for Mt. Chomo Lonzo main:
We will serve highly professional, well trained and qualified expert climbing Sherpas for the your expeditions. Many climbers avoid Sherpa guides for the climbing and would like to climb Alpine style but they have been found to facing many hindrances on their way. If you take Sherpas along with you on the expedition, they are very useful in your each and every step of support, which makes your climbing easier to restore your strained energy and it gives you vigorous strength for your next day’s climbing and make it successful trip. Most of the groups, who have gone with the Sherpa guides on the expedition, are found to be succeeding as per our past experiences. So we suggest you to operate your expeditions along with the climbing guides (Sherpa).

Note:
If you have your own private group or team, please e-mail us to know the price and details of expedition.
