Mt. Nyainqentanglha (Nyenchen Tanglha) is very beautiful mountain for climb and it is located in Damxung County of the Tibet at autonomous region. It has characteristics in the obvious inland arid climate as it lies in the hinterland of the continent as well. At the northwest foot of the main peak rests the second largest, Nam Tso lake and we have designed this mountain programs for climbers those who like to attempt over 7000 meter high mountain in Tibet region. This is one of the best ideal mountains for climber.
Climbing History of Mt. Nyainqentanglha:
First Ascent: 8 May 1986
Second Ascent by: International expedition to the Nyainqentanglha range between April 12 to June 01, 2003.
Third Ascent: Nick Bullock and Paul Ramsden via South East via the North Buttress at December 9, 2016.
Climbing route:
The route start from Nyainqentanglha base camp climb the Southeast Peak and continue climb the “track” up to the 5,900m. col between a small mountain called it Mirador at 6,100m. and the slope up to Central Peak. Traversing the avalanche field on the southeast side of the fore summit of the central peak was hard work. The snow was sometimes 80cm deep in this dangerous area. A crevasse zone at 6,100 meter brought a small maze for us that we escaped exactly when dusk fell and over night at 6,200 meter.
The second day will takes climb south-ridge of the Southeast summit and traversed it until the flank at about 6,400m. Ahead continue climb take you to 45° hard firn ice flank until a rock- barrier closed the flank. This barrier consists of 60 meter of loose rock and is the crux of our route. Difficulties up to UIAA IV-V had to be climbed, partly mixed with ice. From the top of the rock band there came one pitch with 60° ice. After that a 50° later on less steep hard firn ice flank leads to the Nyainqentanglha summit.
Advance Base Camp 01 - 5,900m
Camp 01 - 6,200m
Camp 02 - 6,400m
