The close up view of mountains such as Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu, Ama Dablam, Baruntse and others will greet you all the way to summit. The enticing cultural display of Sherpa and Tamang people of the region will appease you copiously. The rich wildlife of the make an endearing treats to explore. It was first ascent by the Brazilians Marcelo Rey Belo and Juliana N. Bechara Belo with several Sherpas on May 19, 2003. The ascent route led over the northwest ridge.

Phari Lapcha Peak rises from yak pastures above the village in a uniform slope to the final summit pyramid which is an undistinguished snow and ice slope. Phari Lapcha itself has two summits and the East Summit (5,977m) is slightly lower than the main top. Phari Lapcha is sometimes confused with Dawa Peak (5,920m) to the north-west of the main summits, and has been called Phari Lapcha West though it is arguably an entirely separate peak.
