Naya Kanga Peak (5,863m), also known as Ganja La Chuli, is a striking peak located south of Kyangjin Gompa, the final village of the popular Langtang Trek in Langtang National Park. The Naya Kanga Peak climbing trip is closely associated with the Langtang Valley Trek. The trail to Naya Kanga passes through beautiful oak and rhododendron forests within the national park.
The Naya Kanga climbing package offers stunning views of the region's geography and landscapes. From the summit, climbers can enjoy breathtaking vistas of Langtang Lirung (7,234m), Lenpo Gang (7,083m), Dorje Lakpa (6,990m), Langtang II (6,571m), the mighty Shishapangma (8,013m), and the Ganesh Himal range.
The northeast ridge, following a route over a rocky glacier, is the most commonly used path to the summit. A Naya Kanga climbing trip, combined with a visit to Langtang Valley and Kyanjin Monastery, is an excellent way to acclimatize. The normal ascent route goes via the snowy northeast ridge. Most of the climb is straightforward, though there is a moderately steep section (40 to 55 degrees) where belaying is necessary.
