Trip Overview

Gatlang Village and Langtang Trek, also known as the "Tamang Heritage Trek," is located in the northern part of Rasuwa District, Nepal. This pristine trail is a recently developed route that offers a deep dive into the vibrant Tamang heritage. The Langtang Valley Trek follows a path that traverses the awe-inspiring Langtang Valley, enriched by the warm hospitality of the kind-hearted Tamang communities. When combined, these two treks offer an adventurous journey that provides a profound insight into the traditional and rural lifestyles of the indigenous Tamang people. Additionally, the stunning panoramic views of snow-capped peaks along the trail leave trekkers frequently in awe. This phenomenal region is exhilarating, culturally rich, and traditionally captivating. Conveniently located near the Kathmandu Valley, it is easily accessible from the capital city. Gatlang Village, combined with the Langtang Trek, offers a unique experience that includes soothing hot springs, charming villages, terraced fields, and peaceful valleys. With its exquisite local architecture, trekkers often admire the classic craftsmanship seen in traditional stone houses, local forts, and monasteries along the route.

The adventure begins at Syabru Bensi, where the trail officially starts. From there, we proceed to Gatlang Village, then continue to Tatopani, where natural hot springs offer a relaxing retreat. The trail then leads to the beautiful Tamang village of Briddim via Nagthali and Thuman, where trekkers can immerse themselves in Himalayan culture through local homestays. Afterward, we return to Syabrubesi and continue to Lama Hotel. From Lama Hotel, the trail takes us through yak pastures and lush forests around Ghodatabela, home to the elusive Red Panda. Eventually, we arrive at the elegant Langtang Village and trek onward to Kyanjing Gompa. Here, we explore the region and ascend either Kyanjing Ri or Tserko Ri for breathtaking views of the Himalayas. From this point, we begin our descent back to Lama Hotel, then to Syabru Bensi, and finally return to Kathmandu with joyful hearts, concluding this unforgettable trek.
