Mt. Thamserku is a magnificent extreme expedition mountain and it is rated as difficult and technical mountain for climbing but most people like to explore it to face the challenge of nature. The Snow Saddle - is another beautiful mountain which rises majestically to a saddle shaped summit from Khumbu and Hinku valley and sits next to another prominent mountain Kangtega to the south. The first ascent was made in 1964 from the south by members of Edmund Hillary's Schoolhouse Expedition: Lynn Crawford, Pete Farrell, John McKinnon and Richard Stewart. In 2014, Russian climbers Alexander Gukov and Alexey Lonchinskiy made the first ascent on the southwest face. Thamserku's best view is from above Phortse, but most impressive from Minmo Valley is nearly never entered by trekkers or climbers.
This expedition starts from Lukla after 45 minute fly from Kathmandu then walk up to Thamserku Base Camp.
