Mt. Lho La peak is known as Khumbutse Peak 6,036 meter is the first mountain to the west of Everest, located between Nepal and Tibet border and near to Changtse or Everest Base Camp at Khumbu Region as well as this is a regular avalanche spot and would appear to be very close to the route between Everest Base Camp and the Ice Fall. Best months for climbing is September and October. In comparison with Everest it is nothing, but in itself it is a nice peak. To the west are two other mountains: Lingtren and Pumori. Though the mountain has steep sides on all sides it is for a large part covered in snow and ice. Trekking and climbing groups on the Lho La pass frequently report avalanches on this mountain. Dutch climber Bart Vos ascended this mountain for the first time in 1993, according to one of his books.
