Mt. Kanjiroba Himal (6,883m) lies in western part of Nepal at Dolpo region and there are more than twenty five years has passed since we were captivated by a remarkable high mountain range, 40km far away to the north, seen from the top of Tso Karpo Kang (6,556m) in the northeastern corner of Kanjiroba Himal in 1971. Name of these mountains was quite unknown at that time, we had only a vogue idea they must be on the Nepal - Tibet border and in the easternmost part of Mugu district. On old maps by Survey of India, from 1930's, afterward, the name Kubi Kangri was roughly given to these mountain ranges, probably from the data of Sven Hedin's expedition in 1907. How to access to these mountains has long been the center of our interest thereafter. There are in fact four summits namely Main Summit, Middle Summit, South Summit & Yalung Kang or West Summit. The first successful climb was in 1955 by a British Expedition team.

Kanjiroba Expedition begins at Juphal and winds through the most isolated regions of Dolpo, which are very rarely treated all the way to the Base Camp of this beautiful peak. The trail to Kanjiroba Base Camp winds through sub-tropical forests and low alpine forests before getting into treeless zone. The villages encountered throughout the trail are religious diverse and culturally authentic. The landscapes through the Kanjiroba peak climbing expedition are matchless. Our flight start from Nepalgunj to Juphal then trek up to Jopala Khola and Kanjiroba Base camp, our route will be back with same trail and flight to Nepalgunj from Juphal and take flight to Kathmandu.
