Mt. Churen Himal expedition is one of the popular expeditions in Nepal in the far western part of Nepal and Churen Himal is a part of Jaljala area lies in the west of Mount Dhaulagiri range. This area is completely apart from the beaten paths, beside expedition there are many trekkers visit this area and it is for the person who love the beauty of nature and the wild wide valleys of course spectacular view of Dhaulagiri and its range, Annapurna, Gurja Himal and Churen Himal. Churen Himal is among the seventh series' mountain in the Dhawalagiri mountain range. It has three pinnacles, which are called; Churen west (7371m), Churen Main (7385m-central), Churen East (7371m) and among which the central is remembered to the chief one.

Mt. Churen Himal expedition offers an opportunity to discover areas which remain practically an Individual lifestyle and Churen Himal you will have a chance to trek into the massif of the Dhorpatan hills at about 3000-4300m. This area is full of rivers and fast glacial streams and lake, lots of forest and animals. Our route crosses very nice Chhetri, Magar and Chhantyal villages, especially Gurjagaon is very good majority of Chhantyal people. Beyond Gurja Gaon, there are no any villages. After Guru village by walking up steep on the wood way, we reach Burjungkharka via Darsingkharka; where we can establish our tent for the night haltage. From there, following along the river side of Kapekhola, we reach in the base camp in four hrs. Its base camp is located at 4800m high. Its base camp and the Gurja Mountain's base camp are at the same height. From this base camp, the Churen Himal's base camp-1 and its pinnacle can be clearly visible. To climb Churen himal it's not so easy; and we should fix two high camps to reach there. In its east, the Dhawalagiri I, II, III, IV, and V are located. And the Putha Himal is in its west. Drive from Kathmandu to Beni Bazar and will have overnight there and our staff will lead you to the foot of Mount Churen Himal Base Camp ahead.

01 April - Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu airport (1,350m), meet our staff then transfers to Hotel.
02 April - Day 02: Free day in Kathmandu, preparation and briefing about trip at evening.
03 April - Day 03: Official work for expedition and briefing at Ministry of Tourism.
04 April - Day 04: Drive to Pokhara (915m) then transfer to Teahouse Lodge.
05 April - Day 05: Drive to Darbang Bazar (1,110m). O/N at Teahouse Lodge.
06 April - Day 06: Darbang – Dharapani (1,550m). O/N at Teahouse Lodge.
07 April - Day 07: Dharapani – Mattim (2000m). O/N at Teahouse Lodge.
08 April - Day 08: Mattim – Lumsung Village (1,676m). O/N at Teahouse Lodge/Camping.

Up to Base Camp Cost Includes

  • All pick-up and drop-off services for both international and domestic flights, as per the itinerary. (Airport–Hotel–Airport and expedition pick-up and drop-off)
  • A welcome dinner in a typical Nepali restaurant in Kathmandu.
  • 5 Nights Hotel accommodation in Kathmandu and 2 Night in Pokhara on a bed and breakfast plan. (4 Nights before and 3 Night's after expedition).
  • Toyota Hiace, 4WD Jeep or Tourist Bus (Coach) transportation: Kathmandu - Pokhara - Kathmandu for members, trekking and Base Camp guide, Cook, kitchen helpers, assistance Sherpa guide and Porters.
  • Local Reserve 4WD Jeep or Bus transportation: Pokhara - Darbang via Beni Bazar - Pokhara for members, trekking and Base Camp guide, Cook, kitchen helpers, assistance Sherpa guide and Porters.
  • Transportation of food supplies, expedition equipment, and baggage (including climbing gears) to and from Base Camp.
  • Climbing permit for the Mt. Churen Himal expedition and other necessary permit fees.

  • 3 Meals breakfast - Lunch - Dinner and accommodation at teahouse lodges during the trekking to base camp and back.
  • Each members will be provided an individual Tent (Kailas/Box Tent), Mattress at Base Camp.
  • Common Equipment at Base Camp such as Dining Tent, Kitchen Tent, Communication Tent, Shower Tent, Toilet Tent, Tables, Chairs, Cooking utensils and heater, etc.
  • Government Liaison officer with his daily wages, equipment's charges, all 3 meals, insurance and all ground transportation or both-way airfare as per itinerary.
  • Freshly cooked meals (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner): Continental, Nepali, Indian, Tibetan and Chinese items with hot drinks, Tea and Coffee at Base Camp.
  • Fresh green vegetables, fresh meat, fresh fruits, juice, and drinks will be regularly served at Base Camp.
  • Experienced Base Camp Sirdar, Manager, Cook and Kitchen helpers at Base Camp.

  • International airfare: To and from your country.
  • Nepal entry visa fee (To be applied for 60 days - Visa can be obtained upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport-Kathmandu).
  • Lunch and dinner during your stay in Kathmandu.
  • Hotel after 8 nights stay in Kathmandu.
  • Personal trekking and climbing gears (trekking and climbing Boots).
  • Hight altitude climbing Sherpa guide and his related expenses.
  • High altitude tents/sleeping bags and mattress etc.
  • High Camp Services: High Tent, Shovel, Rope, EPI Gas, Gas Burner (MSR Rector) and High Food, etc.
  • Charges for communication equipment and commercial filming permits during the trek and expedition.
  • Airport customs charges for expedition gear and materials.
  • Personal insurance such as travel, accident, Hospital medical expenses, emergency evacuation and lost your luggage.
  • Applicable customs charges for Drone camera and special filming permit.
  • Personal Expenses: Phone calls, internet, battery recharge, laundry service, postage, alcoholic beverages, bottles and canned beverages, specialty coffee or espresso drinks etc during in teahouse lodges on the way to base camp and return.

Note for expedition participants:
Expedition service up to Base Camp: This applies to those who have booked the expedition service - up to Base Camp. The cost does not include the High Altitude (H. A.) Sherpa guide, food and fuel, tents, climbing gear, fixed ropes up to the summit, or the Sherpa’s bonus beyond Advance Base Camp.

Additional Cost for High Altitude Climbing Sherpa: USD 2,100 (If required by client)

The additional cost for a High Altitude Climbing Sherpa (H. A.) includes: Expedition equipment allowance, Personal climbing gears, daily wages, food and fuel from base camp to summit, helicopter rescue coverage, medical expenses, accident insurance for the Sherpa, all ground transportation and a personal sleeping tent at base camp, among other essentials.

Summit Bonus for High Altitude Climbing Sherpa: USD 500 for reaching Camp at 6,000m, plus USD 500 for climbing from 6,000m to the summit - total USD 1000. This amount is payable on the spot (ABC) by the climbing member and applies only to those climber who purchase expedition services - up to summit.
