Mt. Baruntse is a substantial and symmetrical snow peak, has four ridges and four summits. It is bounded on the east by the Barun Glacier flowing north-south from Cho, to the north-west by the Imja glacier and the Hunku glacier forms the south-east boundary. The three main ridges of Barun Tse are situated between these glaciers and form an upturned 'Y'running from Cho Polu (6,695m.) in the north past the Humni La, on to the north summit where it divides. Other well - known mountains in this area are Makalu, Lhotse, Chamlang, Everest and the trekking-peak Mera Peak. The mountain was first climbed May 30, 1954 via the south ridge by Colin Todd and Geoff Harrow of a New Zealand expedition.

The regular approach begins at Lukla and takes you across the Mera Peak trek up to Mera-La and then Hongu valley, one of the most fertile regions in Nepal, passing northward through a beautiful alpine environment. The walk passes through delightful Sherpa country and provides for excellent acclimatization. The Baruntse base camp is at an altitude of around 5250m. and sits near the pristine lakes below Amphu Lapcha pass. The route then follows a long ridge leading to the summit. We have designed the programs enclosed two camps above the base camp in Baruntse climbing. The camp (I) is set up just below East Col. at an altitude of 5,700m. and the camp (II) is on the South - East Ridge at a height of 6,420m. The generous itinerary gives us plenty of time for multiple attempts before we exit back to Lukla and Kathmandu via the difficult and impressive Amphu Lapcha Pass.

12 April - Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu airport (1,350m.), meet our staff then transfer to Hotel.
13 April - Day 02: Free in Kathmandu.
14 April - Day 03: Official work for expedition and briefing at Ministry of Tourism.
15 April - Day 04: Fly to Lukla (2,860m.) then trek to Chutanga (3,137m.).
16 April - Day 05: Trekking Chutanga – Nau Lekha (4,400m.).
17 April - Day 06: Nau Lekha – Kothey (3,520m.-Tashi Dingma).
18 April - Day 07: Kothey – Tangnang (4,350m.).
19 April - Day 08: Tangnang – Khare (5,100m.).
20 April - Day 09: Khare – Mera Base Camp (5,260m.).
21 April - Day 10: Mera Base Camp – Seto Pokhari (4,850m.).
22 April - Day 11: Seto Pokhari – Barun Tse Base Camp (5,450m.).
23 April/05 May - Day 12/24: Climbing period for Mount Barun Tse (7,129m.).
06 May - Day 25: Clean up base Camp and Reserve day.
07 May - Day 26: Trek back to Seto Pokhari.
08 May - Day 27: Seto Pokhari – Mera Base Camp.
09 May - Day 28: Mera Base Camp – Khare.
10 May - Day 29: Khare – Tangnang.
11 May - Day 30: Tangnang – Kothey.

  • 5 Nights Hotel accommodations in Kathmandu at 3 star Hotel on Bed and Breakfast plan (before and after expedition).

Extra Cost for High Altitude Climbing Sherpa: USD 1900 for group sharing basis (if required by client)

  • We will provide you the expedition cost as per your size of group or, as per your requirement for the expedition service. We request you to e-mail us or, use "Book Expedition" form for send us your message.
  • Above given cost does not include the climbing Sherpa’s food & fuel, tents, climbing gears and summit bonus above advance base camp.
  • Hiring a high altitude Sherpa cost includes equipment allowances, daily wages, food and fuel up to base camp, insurance, flight to and from Kathmandu and sleeping tents at BC etc.

Summit Bonus: Camp 7000m. = USD 500 and over 7000m. to summit= USD 400 = 900 USD extra payable for per climbing Sherpa on the spot.
