Mt. Annapurna South (7,219m.) known as Annapurna Dakshin or Moditse, is a mountain in the Annapurna Himal range of the Himalayas, and the 101st-highest mountain in the world. It first ascent was by a six persons team from the Kyoto University Alpine Club (Shiochiro Uyeo -Japan and Mingma Tsering Sherpa - Nepal on 15 October 1964 via the North face. Annapurna South was attempted by Italian team in 1988. The south face base camp is situated at 4000 meter and the advance base camp is on west bank of the glacier between Annapurna south and mount Hiunchuli. Climb up to the glacier is a little bit difficult gullies on all sides. The camp 1 is fixed at the 5000 meter. Camp-2 is fixed at 5,970 meter; and Camp 3 is at 6,400 meter high. From Camp 3 the summit can be made. Climbing Annapurna south seems easy from North East route of side and the base camp will be at Annapurna Sanctuary at 4,300 meters.

Mount Annapurna South expedition starts from Kathmandu to Pokhara by private bus and stay over night is Pokhara, then the next day drive goes to either Nayapul or Kande Village, then the trek stars to Pathana, a little temperate region of forested hillsides such as; Magar and Gurung villages through where the trekking route of Annapurna South face of Expedition goes. As the team move higher altitude through the rhododendron woodlands, the views of Annapurna and mount Machhapuchhre are amazing sceneries and towards the Modi River, the greenery valley’s nice views are there on the way. On reaching Ghandruk village, Tadapani and Kopra pasture, our campsite remains right below the Mount Annapurna south face. Trails go tranquilly, with a spectacular highland experiences. After concluding the expedition the trek backs to Pokhara leads us via Ghorepani and Poon hill where you can envisage one of the most famous panoramic views of Mount Annapurna and Dhaulagiri range. We have designed the expedition itinerary either via Kopra Ridge or from Annapurna Base Camp, one of route may match climbing holiday in Nepal.

02 October Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu airport (1,350m.), meet our staff then transfers to Hotel.
03 October Day 02: Kathmandu free.
04 October Day 03: Official work for expedition and briefing at Ministry of Tourism.
05 October Day 04: Drive to Pokhara (915m.) by tourist Bus then transfer to Hotel.
06 October Day 05: Drive to Nayapul and Ghandrung Village (1,951m.).
07 October Day 06: Trek to Tadapani (2,750m.).
08 October Day 07: Tadapani – Dobatto (3,350m.).
09 October Day 08: Dobatto – Chistibung (3,000m.).
10 October Day 09: Chistibung – Kobra Hill (3,640m.).
11 October Day 10: Kobra Base Camp rest for acclimatization (4,827m.).
12 - 24 October Day 11 - 23: Climbing Period Mt. Annapurna South (7,219m.).
25 October Day 24: Base Camp clean up and trek to Shownta (2,400m.).
26 October Day 25: Shownta – Ghorepani (2,855m.).
27 October Day 26: Ghorepani – Tirkhedhunga (1,577m.).
28 October Day 27: Tirkhedhunga – Nayapul then drive back to Pokhara, transfer to Hotel.

Extra Cost for High Altitude Climbing Sherpa: USD 1900 for group sharing basis (if required by client)

  • Above given cost does not include the climbing Sherpa’s food & fuel, tents, climbing gears and summit bonus above advance base camp.
  • Hiring a high altitude Sherpa cost includes equipment allowances, daily wages, food and fuel up to base camp, insurance and sleeping tents at BC etc.

Summit Bonus: Camp 7000m. = USD 500 and over 7000m. to summit= USD 400 = 900 USD extra payable for per climbing Sherpa on the spot.
