Trip Overview

An scenic flight take you to Tumlingtar from where our trail descend to the deep gorge of the beautiful Arun Valley. The Arun Valley is lush, green oasis, rich in bird life and these first few days provide a fascinating contrast to high mountain escape as we approach in to the Arun, Hunku Valley and Mera Peak. Our trekking Arun, Hunku, Mera Peak route to the Mera La will take us through thick rhododendron and bamboo forest separating Hunku valleys. On the trail to Panch Pokhari will come across a beautiful Sherpa Village and Kirong La Buddhist Monastery.

A beautiful lake called Panch Pokhari lies on the way to Hunku and trails continue descend to Hunku River, a complete wilderness trail. The views of mountain along this section are superb and beautiful. Towards the east we can see the Kanchaejunga and Jannu Himal, to the north, the views of Hunku and Hongu dominate. The trail continues to Thangnag (4366m) from here we move to Khare (5108m) where we establish the base camp at the foot of the glacier leading to Mera-La (5415m). Here we have some of days to rest for explore around and acclimatization. Our return trails will take us south, down to the Hunku Drangka before turning west to cross the Zattrawa-La to the mountain airstrip at Lukla Bazaar. Next day from here we will fly back to Kathmandu then transfer to the hotel.

Outline Trekking Itinerary: Spring & Autumn

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu airport (1,350m.), meet our staff then transfers to Hotel.
Day 02: Fly to Tumlingtar by flight then O/N at Tented Camp.
Day 03: Tumlingtar – Katike Ghat.
Day 04: Katike Ghat – Ghote Bazar.
Day 05: Ghote Bazar – Salpa Phedi.
Day 06: Salpa Phedi – Ghorase.
Day 07: Ghorase – Guidel.
Day 08: Guidel – Khiraule.
Day 09: Khiraule – Cholam.
Day 10: Cholam – Khola Kharka.
Day 11: Khola Kharka – Mosam Kharka (3,750m.)
Day 12: Mosam Kharka – Thangnag (4,356m.)
Day 13: Thangsang – Khare (5,010m.)
Day 14: Khare – Mera Peak Base Camp acclimatization day.
Day 15: Set up High Camp (5,200m.)
Day 16: Summit Mera Peak (6,361m.) and back to Base Camp
Day 17: Rest day at Base Camp.
Day 18: Mera Base Camp – Mosom Kharka.
Day 19: Mosom – Chhetarwa.
Day 20: Chhetarwa – Lukla (2,800m.) then transfer to Teahouse Lodge.
Day 21: Lukla – Kathmandu by flight then transfer to Hotel.
Day 22: Kathmandu free.
Day 23: Last minute, transfers to airport for your onward journey.

Cost Includes

  • All land transportation by Car, Van, Hiace or reserve Bus. (Airport/Hotel/Airport & trekking pick up & drop).
  • 3 Night’s hotel accommodation twine sharing room at Kathmandu in Bed & Breakfast basis.
  • All 3 major meals Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner (provide continental food) & accommodation in tented camp during the trek en-route. (twin sharing North Face tent or, normal trekking tent, dining tent, toilet tent, Kitchen tent, staff tent, and Kitchen utensil etc.).
  • We provide seating Matress for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner instead of Chairs & Table for Trekking due to Heavy Loads for Porter.
