    Cho Oyu Expedition from Nepal sideMt. Cho Oyu is the sixth highest mountain in the world located a short distance to the west from Mt. Everest and Lhotse (the fourth highest) in the Khumbu region of eastern Nepal along the Tibetan border China. Its towering peak stands with Mt. Everest well above the surrounding mountains. It became a familiar landmark to climbers ascending Everest’s North face. It is just west from Cho Oyo is Nangpa-La, the main trade route between the Nepal Namche Bazaar (Khumbu Region) and Tibet. However, Cho Oyu's proximity to the Nangpa La has earned it the distinction among some climbers as being the easiest 8,000m. a beautiful mountain which attract for the every trekkers and climbers. The First time Cho Oyu scaled by Mr. Maciej Berbeka from Poland on February 12, 1984 via south east ridge. Early in the morning we transfer to the domestic airport where you will fly to Lukla, meet our rest of support crews and start trek to Phakding to the Cho Oyu Base Camp and end of this trip will be at Lukla then fly out by plane to Kathmandu.

    Expedition Itinerary:

    • Hotel/Lodges/Camping
    • 37 Days Trek/Climbing
    • Food: Included except main meals in Kathmandu
    • Accommodation: 5 Nights Kathmandu & 36 Nights Lodges/Camping
    • Recommended Season: Spring & Autumn


    Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu airport, meet our staff then transfers to Hotel.
    Day 02: Kathmandu free.
    Day 03: Official work for expedition & briefing at Ministry of Tourism.
    Day 04: Fly to Lukla 2860m. & trek to Phakding 2622m./Monjo.
    Day 05: Phakding/Monjo – Namche Bazaar 3440m.
    Day 06: Namche rest for acclimatization.
    Day 07: Namche – Dole (4,200m).
    Day 08: Dole – Machharmo (4,410m).
    Day 09: Machharmo – Gokyo Lake. (4,750m.).
    Day 10: Gokyo rest day for acclimatization.
    Day 11: Gokyo – Ngozumba Tso.
    Day 12: Ngozumba Tso – Cho Oyu Base Camp 5400m.
    Day 13 – 35: Climbing period for Cho Oyu 8201m.
    Day 36: Clean up BC & trek back to Gokyo Lake.
    Day 37: Gokyo Lake – Dole.
    Day 38: Dole – Namche Bazaar.
    Day 39: Namche Bazaar – Lukla then transfer to Teahouse Lodge.
    Day 40: Lukla – Kathmandu by flight and transfer to Hotel.
    Day 41: Kathmandu free.
    Day 42: Last Minute, transfers to airport for your onward journey.

    Expedition Cost: Service up to Base Camp on group joining basis:

    USD 7,700 Per Person.

     

    • We will provide you the expedition cost as per your size of group or, as per your requirement for the expedition service. We request you to e-mail us or, use "Book Expedition" form for send us your message.
    • Above given cost does not include the climbing Sherpa’s food & fuel, tents, climbing gears and summit bonus above advance base camp.
    • Hiring a high altitude Sherpa does cost USD 1900. This cost includes equipment allowances, daily wages, food and fuel up to base camp, insurance, flight to and from Kathmandu, sleeping tents at BC etc…

     

    Service Includes up to Base Camp

    • All land transportation by Car, Van or Toyota Hiace (Airport/Hotel/Airport, expedition pick up & drop).
    • 5 Nights Hotel accommodations in Kathmandu at 3 star Hotel on Bed & Breakfast plan (before and after the expedition).
    • Schedule flight KTM/Lukla/KTM for member, Liaison officer & Expedition staffs.
    • Transport of food supply and expedition equipments to Base Camp and back.
    • Full board in lodges during trekking to base camp and back.
    • BC single sleeping tent & Mattress for each member, BC staffs & Liaison officer.
    • All kitchen tent, store tent, dining tents, toilet tent, table, chairs, cooking utensils for BC.
    • Food and fuel at Base Camp.
    • Service of Government Liaison officer.
    • Service of cook and kitchen boy at Base Camp.
    • Equipments allowance, daily wages of cook, kitchen boy & Liaison officer.
    • Insurance of cook, kitchen boy, Liaison officer and porters.
    • Expedition Permit fee of Mt. Cho Oyu.
    • Sagarmatha National Park entrance fee.
    • 2 Expedition duffel bag or, barrel for each member.
    • Per Person 50 KG. Expedition equipment’s luggage or, barrels allowed for expedition till Base Camp.
    • Per Person 40 KG. Expedition equipment’s luggage or, barrels is allowed for returned to Kathmandu.
    • Generator or Solar panel at Base Camp for light and charging.
    • Sat Phone available at Base Camp, but nominal charge for use.
    • Emergency medical Oxygen at Base Camp.
    • Visa extension fee.
    • Garbage deposit fees.
    • Official taxes and agency service charge.

     

    Service does not include

    • International airfare from/to your country.
    • Nepal entry visa fee (can be obtained at the airport at upon arrival).
    • Lunch and dinner during your stay in Kathmandu.
    • Hotel after 5 night stay in Kathmandu.
    • Personal climbing gear and equipment above Base Camp.
    • High Tents above Base Camp.
    • High altitude food and fuel above Base Camp.
    • Oxygen bottles with mask and regulator-Poisk Oxygen System (available on requst).
    • Personal insurance such as travel, accident, medical, emergency evacuation and lost luggage.
    • Applicable permit fees and customs charges, etc. for SAT phone, Walkie-Talkies, Communication equipment & commercial filming.
    • International airport departure tax at Kathmandu Airport.
    • Expenses of personal nature such as drinks, laundry, postage, telephone etc.
