Height: 6120m.
Latitude: …°..′…″N
Longitude: …°…′…″E
Trip Duration: 30 Days
Normal Ascent Route: Normal route

Caravan Route: Ktm–Besishahar-Koto-Nar-phu valley-Jomsang Base Camp

Mt. Jomsang lies in border of Mustang & Manang district at Damodar Himal range near to Nar Phu Village. The most direct route from Kathmandu to Nar and Phu village start from Besi Shahar or Khudi along with Marshyangdi River to Koto and enter the Narphu valley. Beside above there is a possibility to fly into Hongde airport either from Kathmandu by charter flight or from Pokhara.

Its is about 300 inhabitants who depend on livestock, unlike most Bhotia people, whose trading patterns changed drastically after the Nepali Government closed borders with Tibet, the people of Nar and Phu valley were least affected by this change. The tortuous path leading from the valley into Tibet had never made them dependent on the salt trade, and till today yak herding is the basis of their livelihood and so on. Government of Nepal to open up Nar and Phu to tourists has evoked little enthusiasm among the villagers, whose pastoral lifestyle continues. Apart from the odd researcher and climbing expeditions permitted to climb Mt. Gyajing Kang, Himlung, Ratna Chuli and Mt. Kang Guru, Chhuboche, Amolsang and Jomsang Himal.
