Hotel Accommodation

Cultural Treks & Expedition prefer to use 3 stars to 5 stars Hotel around Kathmandu valley, Pokhara and Jungle resorts in Chitwan, Nagarkot as well as best available guest house as per required by member, with the emphasis on location, hospitality and excellent atmosphere. Our trips are based on twin sharing accommodation with bed and breakfast basis. Single supplements are available on your request. While on trekking, peak climbing or expedition; typically, each pair of trekkers will sleep in a spacious, 2 person mountain tents with a durable rain fly and full insect netting. We supply foam mattresses. You may be invited to sleep in the homes of local people if trek is in the remote area. Sometime our campsites are near villages or local tea-house lodges, but having our own tents and equipment gives us the flexibility to camp where we wish for a good view or proximity to interesting natural features.

3 Meals; B/L/D in Trekking & Expedition

We think we have the best cooks in the Himalayas. Your meals in Nepal will be mostly local food with a few American and European-style touches. But our aim is to make the hot continental food in our camp cooked by our own trekking cook. Mornings begin with a hot drink in your tent. Breakfast usually includes cereal, porridge, Pancake and eggs in different style, coffee, tea, and bread with jam and butter. Lunch typically includes Indian-style bread (Chapati) vegetable salads, French fries, fruits, beverages and local snack food. On other occasion lunch may be fried rice, Chowmein, macaroni, or sandwiches. We have afternoon snack such as trail mix, popcorn, or cookies and tea. Dinner includes soup and a full hot meal including rice or potatoes, cooked fresh vegetables, and a lentil or other sauce followed by dessert. If you book the Tea-house Lodge trek with us then your accommodation and 3 meals; B/L/D will be provided in tea-house lodge food en-route.

Group Size

Our groups are small and large, giving participants the opportunity to develop a closer relationship with the group leader/trekking Sirdar and fellow travelers. Our trekking groups do not exceed 20 people, and they are usually of between 9 and 17 participants.

Health, Fitness and Safety

We strongly recommend a visit to your doctor and dentist before your holiday. Your doctor will advise current inoculation requirements. If in case there are any strong or inconvenient advise by the doctor then inform us in details. During your holiday you are under the control of your tour leader/Sirdar or trekking guide and he/she has total authority to determine you suitability to continue with your trip. On all trekking and exploratory trips our staff has been trained to strict hygiene standards. We carry extensive medical kits and, if the need should ever arise, we are able to evacuate seriously ill group members by helicopter. We run regular first aid courses for all trek leaders, Sirdar, Trekking guide – these are conducted by Cultural Treks owner Mr. Kumar Bahadur Karki.

Independent – Special Interest group

We have considerable experience of working with groups who wish to explore independently. These groups have varied from bushwhacking clubs schools and universities who need special itineraries, through to parties of friends who require anything from a short trek around the hills of Kathmandu to full scale mountaineering expeditions and other related services. Travel Insurance

To join one of our trips you must have travel insurance that you need to make by yourself. For tours/treks or expedition the policy must cover helicopter rescue, medical expenses, damage or lost, theft etc. and we also suggest that you take out insurance against cancellation, thus avoiding the loss of any payments that you may have made.

Environment

We use Kerosene-burning brass stoves or, Gas and we adhere to strict environmental, as well as cultural codes on all of our trips.

Prices

Prices are based on costs and exchange rates when this website was hosted. We therefore reserve the right to adjust our tour prices.

Trip Cancellation Policy

Cancellation must be notified in writing to the office of “Cultural Treks & Expedition”. Cancellation charges shall be levied as follows:

  • More than 15 days before departure:  USD minimum 150 Per Person
  • Less than 15 days before departure: Loss of deposit
  • After starting the tour, trekking or expedition in Nepal/Tibet: No refund
