Salpa High Passes and Everest

The highest trekking peak in Nepal and views of four of the world’s five highest mountains with Salpa pass.

This superb trek takes us away from the more frequented trails, begins with a mountain views flight, take us always exciting to Tumlingar before heading into the beautiful and remote Arun Valley in the eastern Everest region. An area astoundingly rich in flora and fauna, with numerous species of birds and animals found no where else in the country. From the fertile tropical valleys inhabited by Rai peoples cross the Salpa Bhanjyang pass and alpine ridges to reach the Dudh Kosi Valley, home land of Sherpa people.  This trip is more convenient to do trekking in the season spring (March to May) and autumn (September to December). Beginners or inexperienced climbers can take this trek, but this trek requires one to be moderately fit. Considering the snow conditions over Salpa Pass, the trek is advisable even during winter (January & February) and the monsoon season (July & August).

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu airport, meet our staff then transfers to Hotel.
Day 02: Sightseeing: Bouddhanath, Pashupatinath temple, Patan Durbar square and Swayambhunath temple. 4/5 hrs.
Day 03: Kathmandu to Tumlingtar By plane and walk up to Kartike Ghat (457m.).
Day 04: Kartike – Gothey (1128m.)
Day 05: Gothey – Phedi.
Day 06: Phedi – Gurase. 
Day 07: Gurase – Sanam (2750m.)
Day 08: Sanam – Bung (1710m.)         
Day 09: Bung – Gaikharka.
Day 10: Gaikharka – Vasme.
Day 11: Vasme – Pangum (2850m.)
Day 12: Pagum – Painya (2730m.)
Day 13: Painya – Lukla (2866m.) then transfer to Hotel.
Day 14: Lukla – Kathmandu by flight then transfer to Hotel.
Day 15: Kathmandu Free.

This "backdoor" to Everest from Tumlingtar to Lukla takes at least seven days.
