Gokyo Lake Trail

A magnificent trek to the Gokyo Lakes, including an ascent of Gokyo Ri, offering superb views of Mt. Everest

This wonderful trek takes yoou into the heart of the Khumbu valley. This high-altitude alpine trek explores the heart of the Sherpa homeland, entering to Lukla then visiting Namche Bazaar and Thyangboche, before ascending the stunning Gokyo Valley to the glacial lakes under the great peak of Cho Oyu (8153m.). Here we can climb Gokyo Ri 5360 meter for a marvelous view of Everest and the rest of this high mountain wilderness. We rejoin the classic route to Everest Case Camp used by all the great climbing parties when attempting the peak from the Nepalese side. There is ample time for acclimatization, and at the higher altitudes we are able to get well away from the most trekked areas. Our aim is to visit the Gokyo and hiking to Gokyo Ri, which offers another fabulous view of Mt. Everest along with a host of other great peaks. Our 11 days trek will end at Lukla and scenic and panoramic fly back to Kathmandu.

Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu airport, meet our staff then transfers to Hotel.
Day 02 : Sightseeing: Swayambhunath, Bouddhanath, Pashupatinath temple and Patan durbar square with professional English speaking tour guide. 4/5 hrs.
Day 03: Kathmandu – Lukla (2866m.)  by flight & then trek to Phakding (2652m.).
Day 04: Phakding – Namche Bazaar. 3440m.
Day 05: Namche Bazaar rest for acclimatization and explore.
Day 06: Namche – Dole (4040m.)
Day 07: Dole – Machharmo. (4410m.)
Day 08: Machharmo – Gokyo. (4750m.)
Day 09: Gokyo –Gokyo Ri Peak 5360m.) – Gokyo.
Day 10: Gokyo – Dole. (4040m.)
Day 11: Dole – Namche Bazaar.
Day 12: Namche Bazaar – Lukla.
Day 13: Lukla – Kathmandu by flight then transfer to Hotel.
Day 14: Kathmandu Free.
Day 15: Last minute, transfers to airport for your onward journey.

Tea-house Lodge Trek Cost Includes:
