Mt. Kailash & Manasarover Overland Yatra – 16 Days
Mt. Kailash 6714m., the farmed holy peak in west of Tibet. Mt. Kailash has long been an object of worship for four Major religious, for Hindu, it is domain of Shiva, It is also the abode of samvara-a multiarmed, wrathful deity worshipped in the charka Samvara Tantric cycle of Tibetrian Buddhism. The joins of India also reverse the mountain as the site at which the first of their saints emancipated. And in the ancient Bon religion of Tibet, Kailash was the secret nine storeys Swastika Mountain, upon which the Banpo founder Shenrab alighted from haven. The 53 Km. Kailash circuit is the holist of all-Hindu as well as Buddhist pilgrimages and the beacon, which draws most traveler to western Tibet. It is said that a single Parikarma erases the accumulated sins of a lifetime, while 108 cicurmbulation will achieve Salvation.
Lake Manasarovar- Sprawling below Mount Kailash is the sacred lake Manasarovar (4580m), where ritual bath will deliver a pilgrim to brahm's paradise and drink of its water relinquishes the sins of a hundred lifetimes.

DETAILED TOUR ITINERARY
Day 01: Arrival in KTM airport, meet our staff then transfer to Hotel.
Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing.
Morning: breakfast and guided tour of Kathmandu holy sites including Pashupatinath, Boudhanath and Swyambhunath, after finishing sightseeing back to Hotel. At afternoon final preparation for Yatra. Personal gear and equipment will be checked. If anyone needs o buy or rent any gear our staff can assist you in shopping at the various stores in Kathmandu.
Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Nyalam (3700m.) 175 Km - 9 hrs. O/N at Guesthouse – Tented Camp
Journey begins at 5:30 am. Breakfast in hotel, the road follows the river valleys of the Sunkosi and Bhotakosi rivers, passing through green mountains and cliffs. By the afternoon we get to the Tibetan boarder. Depending on the road conditions, we may stay in Zhangmu. If road conditions permit, we will continue 30km to Nyalam.
Day 04: Rest day for acclimatization O/N Guesthouse – Tented Camp
This day gives us a chance to relax and acclimatize to the high altitude. It is important to stay hydrated and extremely aware of your body's physical condition.
Day 05: Drive to Saga (4200m.) 232km - 8 hrs. O/N at Guesthouse – Tented Camp
The road climbs up to the La Lung (5124m) then drops down before heading western part of Tibet. Road to east goes to Lhasa, capital city of Tibet. The driving is difficult, but the stunning views of the Himalayas and in particular Mt. Shisha Pangma (8012m.) more than make up for the rough travel. By late afternoon we will cross the Bhramaputra River and a quick drive will bring us to Saga.
Day 06: Drive to Paryang (4500m.) 285 km - 8 hrs. O/N at Guesthouse – Tented Camp.
This day, our jeeps and trucks roll through the gigantic valleys following the various rivers through the grazing lands of yaks and sheep. The landscape is highlighted by snow capped peaks rising out of the distant sand dunes. It is depending on the season, there are many Tibetan nomads and traders in traditional dress will inhabit this area.
Day 07: Drive to (400m.) 298km - 9 hrs. O/N at tented Camp.
This is the longest driving day of the trip of Mt. Kailash and Manasarover Lake tours. By late afternoon the drive through the green pastures and huge valleys gives way to the first sighting of Mt Kailash and Lake Manasarovar Lake. We will drive to Thogu holiest bathing gate of Manas.
Day 08: Drive to Tarchen (4600m.) 60km. Over Night at Guest House.
According to Hindu and Buddhist cosmology the four great rivers of the Indian sub-continent, the Brahmaputra, Sutlej, Ganges, and Indus all arise from the lake. It is said that Lord Vishnu floated in it for an eternity, dreaming, until the life force stirred, and out of the water's infinite potential sprang forth all of creation. Lake Manasarovar (4500m) is regarded as the most holy of all of Tibet’s many lakes. This day offers a wonderful opportunity to see the great lake Manasarover with Mt. Gurula Mandhata (7728m) on south and Holy Kailash on the north. After finishing bath and Puja of Kailash we drive to Tarchen via Chiu monastery and hot spring.
Day 09: Drive to Tarboche (5 km) trek to Dirapuk (4800m.). O/N at tented Camp.
Our first day of trekking around Kailash begins place at Tarpuche. As we make our way along the route we pass numerous chortens as well as the sky burial site of the 84 Mahasiddas. We will also have wonderful views of cascading creeks, streaming water falls and the mighty west face of Mt. Kailash. We will pass the Chukku Gompa and 5 hrs later arrive at the Dirapuk Gompa where we will set up our camp for the night. The hiking for the day will be 15 km 7 hrs. and it is fantastic day trip.
Day 10: Trek to Zutulpuk Gompa (4790m.). Over Night at tented Camp
We will cross through a rocky expanse dotted with stone cairns draped with the clothes offered by pilgrims as a spiritual sign of death. Gaurikunda is one of the holiest sites to view/ visit from the top. Further hiking brings us to the accent up to Dolma -La pass (5630m). After a nice break at the top of the pass we will head down the steep trail to our eventual campsite at Zutul-Puk Monastery (the cave of miracles where Milarepa meditated) Total hiking for the day will be 18 km 8 hrs. This is a hardest but holiest day of the pilgrimage.
Day 11: Trek to Tarchen and drive to Manasarovar. Overnight at tented Camp.
Early morning start trek to Tangsar, Tangmar and drive to Manasarovar Lake and 3 hrs walk brings us to where the river emerges onto the Borkha plain. Our jeeps will be waiting to transport us to our camp at closed to Mansarovar Lake.
Day 12: Drive Manasarover to Paryang. Over night at tented camp.
Day 13: Drive Paryang – Saga. Over night at tented camp.
Day 14: Drive Saga – Nyalam. Over night guest house.
Day 15: Arrive Zhangmu after visa formalities work enter Nepal and continue drive to Kathmandu then transfer to Hotel.
Day 16: Last minute, transfer to airport for onward journey.

- 13 – 15 Person = 4 Land Cruiser and 1 support truck.
- 16 – 20 Person = Above 5 Land Cruiser and 1 support truck.
- 20 Person = Above 5 land cruiser and 2 support truck.
Note:
- We need a name list of each member 60 days before the trip confirmation for flight reservation.
- Clear passport photocopy and a passport size photo of each member which should reach us 30 days before client's arrival in Kathmandu at info@culturaltreks.com ((jpeg or gif reduced to max. 25Kb per photo).
- If you wish to join tours or trekking in Kathmandu you have to arrive as per the given programs and if you wish join in Lhasa can also possible.
- If you are traveling in Nepal before going to Tibet, then you must apply for your Chinese visa in Kathmandu. We can get it within 2 days with your original passport.
