Annapurna Chulu West
Chulu West to the
north of the Annapurna range is an ideal summit for
those wanting to extend their climbing experience beyond the trekking peaks of
the Rolwaling and Everest region. Chulu Massif rises north of the Marshyangdi
Khola in the Manang region and form part of the Manang Himal, which is quite
rightly included in the larger Damodar Himal. This remote upland area lies to
the north of and in a rain shadow formed by the main Annapurna Himal. Huge
glacial moraines abound etched deeply by wind erosion into fantastic pillars.
Chulu Far East ascent is not difficult and we will settle a high camp near the
col. From that Col we follow the
long South-West ridge on snow and Ice.
It is also ideal peak on which to
develop expeditionary style experience as members will play an active role in
establishing the intermediary camps on the mountain. All though the approach up
the Marshyangdi is relatively quick and involves no great altitude gain, the
trek takes you through a wonderful variety of landscape and culture; from the
subtropical lower reaches of the valley with its terraced fields where Gurung
people dominate, to the ethnically as well as socially interesting Manage
people of the upper valley, crossing rhododendron and pine forests. After the
ascent our route crosses the Thorung-La, a (5350m.) high pass before dropping
to Jomsom downstream toward Kali Gandaki
River from where you can take
flight back to Kathmandu through Pokhara.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu airport, meet our staff then transfers to Hotel.
Day 02: Sightseeing: Swayambhunath, Bouddhanath, Pashupatinath temple and Patan durbar square with professional English speaking tour guide. 4/5 hrs.
Day 03: Kathmandu – Khudi by Bus then overnight at Bhulbhule.
Day 04: Bhulbhule – Jagat (1314m.)
Day 05: Jagat – Dharapani (1943m.)
Day 06: Dharapani – Chame (2713m.)
Day 07: Chame – Pisang (3185m.)
Day 08: Pisang – Chulu Kharka.
Day 09: Pisang – Chulu Camp (3950m.)
Day 10: Chulu Base Camp – preparation day.
Day 11: Chulu high Camp – Chulu West (6420m.) summit and back to Base Camp.
Day 12: Chulu Base Camp – Manang Village (3351m.)
Day 13: Manang Village rest.
Day 14: Manang Village – Thorung- La Phedi.
Day 15: Thorung Phedi – Thorong – La Pass (5416m.) – Muktinath (3800m.)
Day 16: Muktinath – Jomsom (2713m.)
Day 17: Jomsom – Tukuche (2591m.)
Day 18: Tukuche – Ghansa (2013m.)
Day 19: Ghansa – Tatopani (1189m.)
Day 20: Tatopani – Ghorepani. (2855m.)
Day 21: Ghorepani – Poon Hill (3232m.) – Tirkhedhunga (1577m.)
Day 22: Tirkhedhunga – Nayapul then Drive to Pokhara and transfer to Hotel.
Day 23: Pokhara rest.
Day 24: Pokhara – Chitwan and transfer to resort for jungle safari.
Day 25: Full day jungle safari activities.
Day 26: Chitwan – Kathmandu by tourist Bus then transfer to Hotel.
Day 27: Kathmandu free.
Day 28: Last Minute, transfers to airport for your onward journey.
