Island Peak Climbing The beauty of its mountains and hospitality and warmth of its Sherpa people are legendary. This wonderful trek takes us into the heart of the Khumbu Valley and visits Everest Base Camp. An ascent of Kala Pattar (5545m), is good acclimatization and gives us magnificent close-up views of Everest. Leaving the main trail we decent to Chhukung via Dingboche. We then move into the Imja Valley to the base of Island Peak. The climb of Island Peak (6189m) is challenging, involving scrambling on rock, an ascent of a snow face and then tackling the final ridge. For those who are well acclimatized, determined and have the energy, the views from the top provide some of the most striking scenery in the Khumbu region.

Baruntse Views from Mera Summit Combining another expedition to Mera Peak start from Lukla a superb trek takes us away from the more frequented trails, which lead to Everest Base Camp and over a little used pass to the east, through which we enter the sparsely inhabited Hinku Valley. From here we walk northwards through a beautiful high alpine environment, where Mera Peak, at 6654m. the highest trekking peak in Nepal, towers over the valley. Traversing around to the north, however, we find a softer side to the mountain, and from here it is a non-technical climb which anyone with ice-axe and crampon experience can attempt. Our descent, surprisingly fast, brings us back to Lukla and to our flight to Kathmandu

Day 03: Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2610m.).
Day 04: Phakding – Namche Bazaar (3440m.)
Day 05: Namche rest for acclimatization & explore
Day 06: Namche – Thyangboche (3860m.)
Day 07: Thyangboche – Pheriche (4243m.)
Day 08: Pheriche – Labuche (4940m.)
Day 09: Labuche – Kala Pattar (5554m.) – Labuche.
Day 10: Labuche – Chhukung (4750m.)
Day 11: Chhukung – Island Peak base camp (5600m.)
Day 12: Island Peak BC – High Camp & preparation day.
Day 13: High Camp – Island Peak 6173m. summit & back to Chhukung.
Day 14: Chhukung – Pangboche (3985m.)
Day 15: Pangboche – Namche Bazaar.
Day 16: Namche Bazaar – Lukla (2866m.) and free.
Day 17: Lukla to Chutanga 2835m. O/N at Camp
Day 18: Chutanga – Chhetrawa (4155m.)
Day 19: Chhetrawa – Kothe (3555m.)
Day 20: Kothe – Thagnag (4175m.)
Day 21: Thagnag – Khare (Mera Base Camp 4690m.).
Day 22: Mera Base Camp – High Camp.
Day 23: Mera Peak climbing period.
Day 24: Mera Peak summit (6,421m.) and back to Base Camp
Day 25: Mera Base Camp – Khare.
Day 26: Khare – Thagnag.
Day 27: Thagnag – Kothe.
Day 28: Kothe – Chutanga.
Day 29: Chutanga – Lukla & rest in Hotel.
Day 30: Lukla – Kathmandu by flight & transfer at Hotel.
Day 31: Free in Kathmandu.
Day 32: Last minute, transfer to airport for your onward journey.
